The whiskey has a caramel color with a beautiful deep golden hue. Baled hay and pumpkin seeds on the nose with subtle notes of ripe stone fruit and caramel corn. Bold and spicy upfront then mellows with sweet caramel and maple, like biting into an oatmeal raisin cookie. The finish is long and rich. It lingers pleasantly sweet on the palate with notes of vanilla after the spice dissipates.

Thanks to Jeffrey Wright's interview on The Real, I have a new favorite whiskey!
Many blessings to the descendants of the honorable Mr. Nathan Green, I hope you are proud of the legacy he built, having touched millions with his craft. I bought this bottle to honor him and you. It's about time the Jack Daniels company pay tribute where due, and we are grateful that they have. A very honorable thing to do.

As most have said, this whiskey is incredibly smooth, with a slight cinnamony finish, and offers a quick buzz for the parents trying to take the edge off after a day with the kiddos. I enjoy it straight, with a bit of ice, and have poured a bit in my hot totty as a quick sleep inducer. I love it! My new favorite whiskey! Review by Eboni / (Posted on 1/31/2019)
Bold taste. Not overpowering though. A little sweetness and vanilla flavor. Packs a punch too. Excellent "Sippin'" whiskey.

I live in Colorado and purchased this fine drink in Nebraska. I read the story of Uncle Nearest and knew I had to get a bottle for the history of it. I told the story and shared a glass with friends who also wanted to make a purchase. I just want to say

Great History. Great Bourbon.
30 plus years drinking nothing but bourbon. I like what I like... And I like your bourbon. On my 3rd bottle and I live in Ohio. Uncle Nearest is not sold here. I go get it. I think that says it all. Review by Woody / (Posted on 11/20/2018)
My New #! Spirit
This is the best combination of a smooth, mellow, flavored, aromatic stiff spirit I've ever had. It is my new #1. The Maple essence sets it off. I had been a Scotch connoisseur with a progression of fine Single Malts as my favorites since the early 1980's. But this is a different experience for me. That I can relate to the history behind Nathan "Nearest" Green, the year on the label, and its a true American whiskey only add to the significance and the knowing pleasure of the experience. Thanks to the woman who did the research. I'm currently introducing this to my friends who can appreciate a fine experience like this. Review by Kamou / (Posted on 8/28/2018)
A taste of the past
I don't know much about aromaz, bouquets or weather a whiskey will give a highball glass bottle legs. Yet I do know tasty whiskey and quite honestly this is the tastiest whiskey I've had in awhile. I am a of the Uncle nearest brand. Review by Blu tintphotography / (Posted on 8/26/2018)
Absolutely Amazing!
I learned the story of Uncle Nearest this Summer at an event on Martha's Vineyard and was blown away. This whiskey just makes you appreciate the journey the recipe has taken and realize what you've been missing. I've be spreading the word that this is the real deal and to think who knew that whisky in itself could get any better. Thank you for bringing this delight to market. I drink Whiskey. I shared part of a bottle with a good friend on the 4th and we were amazed! Uncle Nearest has shown me what is possible in Whiskey. I’m grateful. Review by TigerFO / (Posted on 7/6/2018)
Worth it
Uncle Nearest, worth the travel to pick up a couple bottles. Tried it 2 ways: chilled as well as a cube of ice. Very smooth going down and opens a little bit with the ice. My opinion, very good and easy to want to have another. It builds quickly, so don't mistake the smooth and easy sip. I would put this right under barrel proof. Very nice 100 proof with good character Review by Uncle / (Posted on 7/4/2018)
Best I've Ever Had!
I bought a bottle to share with family and friends during the holidays and found myself rationing it to ensure I could enjoy it when everyone was gone! I cannot wait for it to bit the shelves in Charleston!
Also, thank you so much for telling/sharing Mr. Green's story. It is definitely one to told and heard! Review by Cruzr / (Posted on 6/14/2018)
Intriguing story and taste
I saw an interview on the Brekfast Club and Sway in the morning about Jack Daniels and this brand . The information they shared had my full attention. I have always been a Jack fan and to find out about the history of the brand made me even more of a fan. I enjoyed the interviews they gave so I had to drive to a neighboring state to buy a bottle of Uncle Nearest. I must say I really enjoy the taste and it was well worth the 300 mile round trip to purchase the bottle. Thank you for the information you’ve shared and thank you for an amazing beverage. very smooth
I heard review about Uncle Nearest on my local London radio station 5 months ago. The reviewers comments about the whisky were VERY positive. since then i have been desperate to try this amazing whisky, the only problem was no one in London had heard of it in fact most of specialist merchants i asked just looked at me as if i talking nonsense. i did find through pure luck one merchant who had and who was hopedully going to order some boxes from the states.....well today was the day i went back to the shop and picked up a bottle. the owner of the store asked me if i wanted to try it first my initial response due to over exitement was no as i paid the £56 pounds. after paying for it i then said yes i would like to try? now im no whisky expert infact must of my experience when drinking whisky has been wow thats got a kick however with Uncle Nearest that kick did not occur. all i can say is its smooth very smooth infact. This is going to be big seller in the UK. the story behind this whisky is amazing too. this is a whisky to truly respect and drink slowly on its own after a hard days work or at least in my case after struggling/battling to get the kids to go to sleep after their bed time! enjoy and drink wisely......well done Uncle Nearest! The best
This is the smoothest and absolute premium whiskey I have enjoyed, 100 proof holds a gentle yet firm punch, with sugar/sweetness at the end so that punch is enjoyable! Review by Sha / (Posted on 3/29/2018)
Rarely Drink Alcohol
There are countless stories of alcohol destroying American lives. So, it is refreshing to come across a story where alcohol has helped to build lives, establish favorable reputations, and to mend differences between estranged communities. Review by kosmopolitisch / (Posted on 3/15/2018)
Best Whiskey I've ever had!!
I learned the story of Uncle Nearest several months ago and was fascinated by it. While on a business trip from Texas to Tennessee I purchased two bottles to support the descendants and if it tasted as good as I was led to believe, that would be a bonus. I was not disappointed. This is the smoothest whiskey I have ever had. The flavor is just as described and has a slight bite at first but smooths out afterwards. I enjoyed the two bottles over the holidays so much, I will be purchasing several more on my next return to Tennessee. I hope stores in Texas will be selling soon. Review by KC / (Posted on 1/4/2018)

Warm, velvety
Initial sip seems like there is going to be a bite...but there isn’t. Smooth mild taste, then finishes warm and velvety. Being 100 proof, you expect to taste strong alcohol, but it doesn’t happen. So good, it would be a shame to mix it with anything. Drink it neat, maybe on a couple ice cubes....
Reasonably priced as well. I’m a fan! Review by shpacker / (Posted on 12/13/2017)
Smooth Smooth Smooth
I love great research stories that take the reader from the beginning to the middle but this one doesn't have an end but a fascinating continuation. Fawn Weaver's research and findings is still alive. It is living in Uncle Nearest. I ordered one bottle, have shared the story and the drink with friends. I drove through Tennessee a few weeks ago and picked up two more bottles for friends. This is one of the smoothest drinks I have ever tasted. It saddens me that my father didn't have the opportunity to have a glass with me. But I toasted him when I got my first bottle of Uncle Nearest. Smooth. Just Smooth. Better than advertised
This is one of the best whiskeys I've ever tasted and with over 40 years of drinking that is saying something. It is without a doubt the smoothest whiskey out there. I drink it straight most times because it's that smooth. Next I want to try the recipe in the book for Tenn gold. Review by Chris / (Posted on 11/18/2017)
Very Interesting
The story of Nathan "Nearest" Green is one I find compelling. This Tn Whiskey was made to honor the man who taught Jack Daniels how to distill. The color is a deep golden hue with a nose that has caramel, fruit, and maple. On the palate its spicy, caramel up front then maple makes its way out. Let me tell you about this finish, the maple fades and toasted sesame makes its way forward. The finish is long and is quite different than any other whiskey Ive ever tried. I say give this Tn Whiskey a try. Review by The Bourbon Snob / (Posted on 10/25/2017)
